Lately I seem to have a thing for messing up a good thing. Killercuts the site is most definitely on hold. Probably won’t attempt anything with that until early next year.
I came up with an oh so stupid idea. I know that the original qwerty keyboard was designed to slow the user down and that the dvorak keyboard can help reduce strain etc. But for someone who has been touch typing using the qwerty keyboard for over four years the change over process is kinda painful. Yes I have nothing better to do with my time.
For those who are interested, the basic idea is that the more commonly used keys are closer at hand. To be honest I can tell the difference and the amount of words which one can type just using the middle line is quite unbelievable. But where before it would take two minutes to type, now takes ten. Having heard some linux peeps using it, I just had to give it a go.

Darn thing, spent well over a week working on this so called kewl idea. Where the building formed largely the interface for the site. This kind of thing always ends in tears. Mainly due to the way browsers render them. After cutting up the image and carrying out a test page. Firebird rendered the page fairly well just a few gaps at the bottom. What IE did to the page was similar to a dogs dinner.
May have a go at making the slices simpler, although I’m begining to think starting again may be best. Some things are best left un-salvaged.

Okay so there’s finally an opening page on killercuts.org so far I’ve had a mixed response. But since there’s only one page not much can be said. The comments range from “whoah that’s kewl!” to “erm, it’s strange!”.
Not gonna pay any attention to comments this time, until its finished. Started on the “Dark Arena”, this section will be the first of the three to be completed. Probably have a goth feel to it. Undecided on whether to make it flash or just keep the site static/images.
Been suprised at the number of applications I’ve had to use and picked up a few neat tips on the way. Probably will include them with the write up of the site which is likely to be released when its open to the general public.
Currently haven’t much for content but I know exactly how the look and feel should be. Although I’m working on it as fast as I can, I have a bad feeling it may take upto the end of this year :/
