“A man walking home after his 55th birthday party because friends and family believed he was too drunk to drive was struck and killed by another vehicle, police said.” Link to story

So his friends thought he was too drunk to drive, he may go out there and kill himself. So rather than giving him a lift or calling a cab, he was left to walk home and get run over anyway on his birthday.

I hope they brought him nice presents at the birthday party.
